The Easiest Way To Respectfully Keep Your Passed Loved One In Your Life

by Monica Ruiz

Dealing with the death of a close friend or family member is incredibly tough, and it is very difficult to make decisions about what to do with the body when you are affected by so much grief. It is always important to have these discussions beforehand with those that you are closest with but even if you haven't there are some options that are better than others. If you want to give your loved one a respectful ceremony while also keeping their memory in your home for long after they have passed, there really is only one solution: cremation..

Cremations

Cremation is a very old practice that has been in use for thousands of years across many cultures. The idea that the body should cease to exist just as your loved one did is very poetic and attracts many people to the practice. The actual funeral process is much the same as a burial, and there are different religious ceremonies available to all faiths. This gives you an opportunity to say goodbye and mourn with those closest to the passed loved one and can be a very touching and influential memory. Then, after the ceremony is completed, the cremation process begins.

After The Funeral

Unlike with burials, cremations offer you a whole host of different, personalised ways to store your loved ones remains. This includes many different types of urns that can be customised as much, or as little, as you desire to even turning their remains into something more creative like a diamond or even a tattoo. Most people, however, keep it simple and respectful by keeping their loved one in an urn, and this is a great way to keep their presence in your home and while giving you nice, subtle reminders of them. If you have an area of your home that has prominent shelves or a cupboard with a nice display on top, then that is a perfect place to keep the urn.

Let Them Go

Another popular thing to do after your loved one's cremation is to scatter their ashes somewhere important to them. This is a process that you cannot do with other burials and is a significant drawcard of cremations. Some people prefer to bury some of their loved one's ashes in a particularly important garden or near a beautiful tree, some get the ashes scattered out of a plane over a large area and many take a soulful boat ride over the water to release the ashes into the ocean. Everyone has their own preference, whether to store or scatter the ashes, but whatever the decision, only a cremation can give you this personalised and long-lasting memory.

Everyone mourns differently, so we have different services and structures to support people through the process of choosing all of the details of the service.
